Visitors Guide to Ajman
Residency, Visas and Work Permits
As within other states in the UAE it is possible to obtain a residency permit, however it is not automatic, as it will need to be applied for. Regulations are subject to change, so it is advisable to consult a lawyer regarding residency and work permits. Permits are usually only obtainable if the property is to be used for a permanent move and are renewable at the time of expiry. Restrictions may also be held regarding the place of employment, as some visas permit the holder to work only for their own company, and a residency visa does not always automatically entitle the bearer to a working permit. Regulations vary depending on the home country of the applicant, so embassies and the assistance of lawyers specialising in Ajman and the UAE are highly recommended.

Health and Safety
Ajman has a family feel to the region with a cosmopolitan outlook, families can often be found heading to the beaches late in the week for dinners and the markets provide a bustling atmosphere during the day. The city and surrounding areas are very safe and welcoming to visitors as the population has grown over recent years with migrating workforces from the surrounding states, along with large immigrant Asian workforces, and more recently an influx of westerners basing companies in the area for strategic reasons, along with taxation benefits. Although Ajman is a safe destination, personal precautions should be taken and respect should be shown towards local customs and traditions.
